Turks and Caicos: Day 6

We made the most of our last day on the island.  Kyle woke up early and took a walk and tried out the fitness facility.  He brought me back a latte from the coffee shop...he's such a sweet guy.  He did all this before the rest of us woke up.  We ate breakfast at our favorite spot, Neptune's.  I even ordered two things off the menu because I couldn't decide between avocado toast and rosemary infused oatmeal with berry compote.

We took the kids to see a short little Sesame Street program.  They had several each day, but we were always too busy at the beach to go to any of them.  It was a science program with Grover.  Jed didn't want to leave the daycare area when it was over so we decided to leave him there to play for an hour or two while we spent some time with Evangeline.  When we came back to check on him they told us that he was at lunch.  We decided to go snorkeling in the meantime.  When we came back to get him Jed told us that they had celebrated Elmo's birthday.  Elmo came, they decorated a cake for him, sang to Elmo, they all had cookies and Jed got to wear a party hat.  He also told us that he got to ride the little train that goes around the park.  He told us that he had a hotdog, cauliflower and broccoli for lunch.  He said he told the lady to cut up his hotdog....It was hilarious to hear all about his big morning.  Kyle joked that Jed took a little toddler excursion.  He had fun, but we missed him and we were glad to get him back.

Snorkeling was lots of fun.  There were a lot of little fish and sea plants to see in the shallow water.  Kyle went out a little further than I did and he saw a very long fish, around 4 feet long with a under bite.  The ocean kind of scares me, so I wasn't as adventurous as he was.  I always feel like I'm surrounded in sharks.

All geared up and looking ready for some serious snorkeling action.....

The swimming pools were amazing and there were several to choose from.  This one had a huge wadding pool area.

There was also a swim up bar where Evangeline quickly made some friends to sip Fairy Princesses with.

That evening there was a beach party.  We danced, ate fantastic food, watched Evangeline play games.  Jed fell asleep in his stroller.  After the party I took Jed back to the room and Kyle took Evangeline for a night swim.  They ended up watching Beauty and the Beast outside in the pool.  It was projected on a big screen for a night showing.  They didn't get back until around 11:00PM.  It was a very special night for Evangeline.  She still mentions it as one of her favorite memories from the trip.

On Saturday we had one last delicious breakfast a Neptune's and wonderful coffee from the café before out departure from the resort and our journey back home.

We had such a fantastic time in the tropics, a place I'd never experienced before.  I would love to go back, but seeing one new place always gets me yearning to see what else is out in there in this big world.   Wherever I go, there is no one I would rather be with than this family of mine.
