Wednesday was a busy one. After breakfast we were scheduled for a glass bottom boat tour at 9:30. The boat took us out to the reef. Jed thoroughly enjoyed this activity. In fact, he was the boat's entertainment. He sang Take Me Out to the Ball Game at the top of his lungs on repeat and he commented on everything he saw through the glass. We saw beautiful plants, coral, tropical fish, a huge stingray and a large turtle. Jed however, saw an octopus, a squid, a "scuba diver taking pictures of the creatures of the deep", a sad fish that couldn't find his "mudder", a mommy fish, daddy fish and an Evangeline fish, and a fish that just woke up and was going to go eat its cereal, just to name a few.
Evangeline was green around the gills pretty much the whole time we were out on the boat...poor girl.
Even now, looking back over the pictures, I just can't get over how blue the water was.
The boat driver told us all about the damage Turks and Caicos endured from hurricane Irma. It's so hard to believe how fast many of the places recovered from the devastation. Judging by what we saw on our drive from the airport to the resort there is still much to be done.
Once we were back on land we hit the beach. We had lunch at a gyro and taco bar, which was absolutely amazing. We also had smoothies at a smoothie bar. Kyle and Evangeline signed up for scuba diving lessons. Scuba diving was not for Kyle. He could never get his oxygen regulated and all of his limbs went numb. He decided he better not go out with the group when they did a sea dive.
Evagneline had a privet lesson with her instructor, Elvis. She did a great job. She and Kyle both mentioned how weird it was to breath oxygen under water from the air tank. I was happy to watch them both while Jed napped in his stroller.
Since Evangeline's class overlapped with Kyle she got to swim around right in front of him. He is to the left of her in all of these pictures.
In the below picture you can see Evangeline swimming in the middle of Kyle's class. It was a neat experience for them and I was proud of them both for giving it a try.
Evangeline must have been super tiered from her big morning because she fell asleep on the floor while I was putting Jed down for a nap. After her little nap we snuck out while the boys were sleeping for a midday treat at Café Paris.
That evening their was a program and performance featuring a little of the history of Turks and Caicos. Kyle and Evangeline stayed for the program and I took Jed back for bedtime.
