I belong with you. You belong with me. You're my sweetheart.

Love is in the air at the Hutson household and we have been doing lots of lovey-dovey Valentine's activities to celebrate.  Evangeline and I made heart sugar cookies last week.  This week we made some heart garland for the mantle and cupcakes with heart sprinkles.

That's Mommy on the pink heart in the middle.

I really love Valentine's Day.  It's not because I enjoy getting mushy cards, flowers or gifts.   I really think I love it because of all the pink, red and hearts!  I like the things I see at Valentine's Day.  It's a pretty holiday.

Evangeline worked hard to make some special Valentine's for Savannah and Lily.  I think she did a wonderful job.

Evangeline just fills me up with so much joy. I don't need anything else as long as I have my healthy, happy little girl, my loving husband and my amazing family.  Ahhh, love is, indeed in the air.

Here are some of my little girl's wonderful and recent quotes:
"You know what fun means?  Fun means you're playing and jumping and swimming.  That's what fun means."

(said to Mommy)  "You're my Valentine's heart."

(said out of the blue in a very dreamy voice)  "I love sunshine and rainbows."

One night Evangeline woke up with a nightmare.  I came in to comfort her and asked her what she was dreaming about.   She told me "Daddy just ate my picture."  Boy, that was a nightmare...what nerve, that Daddy!

Catching Up

It's been a mild winter, but we did manage to get some snow right around Christmas.  Evangeline was so excited to get out and play in it.  I made a big deal about how we could go out and make a snowman.  We bought all the necessary snow gear, bundled up and headed outside only to discover that the snow was too dry and would not pack.  We did our best and managed to make a little "snow Evangeline".

This was the first real romp in the snow for Evangeline.  We never got a good snow in Carbondale since she was born and she was really too little to play in it anyway during our time there.  I was hoping for a big snow this year, but I guess we will take what we can get.

My sweet little snow deer.

A few days later we were able to add a "snow mommy" with the help of a shovel.

She was so proud.

A few weeks ago Papa and Karen took me and Evangeline, along with Lily and Savannah to see Disney on Ice.  Evangeline has such a wonderful time.  She was mesmerized to say the least.  I was so busy watching her face that I think I missed a good deal of the show.  I even teared up (which isn't hard to believe) watching how her face would light up each time a new character entered the scene.

Patiently waiting for the show to start.

Here is a picture Evangeline drew this month after watching the movie Monster's Inc.  When the movie was over she went to the table, drew this picture and said, "these are the Monster's Inc. kids."  Kyle and I were very impressed.

Later that night my mother celebrated her 60th birthday.  It was quite a bash!  She was overwhelmed by all of the people that came to out to share the night with her.  It was held at the Copper Bar in Terre Haute and she wanted to have a karaoke party.  Unfortunately, Kyle was sick, but I enjoyed my time with friends that I don't get to see much and even got to check karaoke off my bucket list.
