Flower Girl

The moment Evangeline has  been looking forward too all year just came and went.  Ainslee Gard's wedding.  It was such a fun weekend.  Evangeline went with the big girls to get her hair done.  She had never had her hair professionally styled before, so it was pretty exciting.  As we left Evangeline said, "I just feel really good about myself, plus I'm nice on the inside which makes it even better."  She was on cloud 9.

She kept gazing at herself in the mirror in astonishment.  She loved the wreath.

From the moment we got home from the salon she begged and begged to put on the beautiful dress that Colleen's mother made her for the wedding.  She absolutely could not wait to get things rolling.  Of course I had to get tons of pictures of her looking so adorable with her fancy hairdo.

The wedding was absolutely stunning.  Evangeline did a great job walking Jeger, the dog down the isle.

Evangeline also loved that she got to eat her meal off of China.  She glowed when she saw that little bridal party touch.

We enjoyed a visit with Margaret.

Evangeline took Jed to dance on the dance floor.....  That lasted for about 2 seconds before Jed made a break for it.  It was sweet while it lasted.

It was a hot one!

What special memories.

It's Finally Here!

Well just like that our little girl has completed the 3rd grade.  WHAAA!  Where is the pause button!  These few pictures were taken as we were leaving for the last day of school.  She's grown so much this year in all aspects.  We love her so much and are just so proud her.

Even though I had a wonderful class this past year, I am always ready for break.  It's so nice to slow down and enjoy life at home with my own kids.  I always hit the ground running at the beginning of break with projects I never have time to get to during the school year.  One of the first items to check off the list was organizing the office area.  I love it right now.  Everything in it's place....no one is allowed to touch anything...haha, kidding....kind of ;)

Another thing I love is being there for Jed when he wakes up from his nap.  He is usually so snuggly in his groggy state.  He also talks my ear off right when he wakes up.  A few days ago it was about Creepy Carrots (from one of his favorite books), today it was Rocky and Bullwinkle.  I love how his little imaginative mind works.

This boy also loves his baby owl.  Evangeline picked it out as a souvenir for him from our trip to Starved Rock last summer.

We've been using the pool a lot.  I have two little fish!  Jed has gotten so good at swimming and it's precious to see his little legs kicking so fiercely as he maneuvers his way around the water.

These two have been spending lots of quality time together.  It's been so good for both of them.  It's so funny how Evangeline can be such a mother hen to Jed and then a few minutes later she's mad at him for saying something unkind or taking something from her.  I have to remind her that he's only two.  Most of the time she is so patient with him and they have so much fun together.  They are quite the pair.

I'm sure I'll be craving routine in a few months, but for right now, bring on summer vacation!  I welcome a break from the routine and all the time I can soak up with my babies!

School Activity Overview

I have a bunch of pictures that Mrs. Ockerman has taken throughout the school year that I plan to put here as soon as I round them all up, but in the meantime I am just going to post what I have....

Mrs. Ockerman set her room up like a fancy restaurant and hosted a "book tasting".  Evangeline really enjoyed this activity and told me all about it when she got to my classroom that day.  She so enjoys reading.  The reading teacher at North told me that she had one of the highest RCBM (words per minute) scores.  This girl read, read, reads.

It's not the best picture, but I was so happy that Peggy could attend Evangeline's class picnic.  She took Jed too which made it really special.  What in the world would I do without Peggy.  She helps us so much with all the day to day stuff.

Evangeline after Activity Day.  She had so much fun.

11 Years

Kyle and I celebrated 11 years of marriage on May 26th.  It's not always easy, but it's always worth it.  I couldn't imagine my life with anyone else.  I love you Kyle.
