January Sunshine

"Oh Mom, you have too much worries."  My girl knows me so well.

The sunny weather this past weekend has sure been welcome, but we are still holding out some hope for snow.  We made little of our own.

Dad surprised me with an air popper.  This thing is amazing!!  I'll never go back to bagged popcorn again!  Thanks Dad!

Here's to a New Year

This past week's been nice.  It's been slow...at least slower than Christmas week.  There hasn't been so many demands and we've been able to really relax.  I've been able to spend some time with my parents, which is always welcome.  I had lunch at Dad's last week where I was served this delicious Asian noodle soup he just whipped up in one of his beautiful bowls.  After lunch Evangeline and I headed to mom's house where we spent the night.  Zach, Candice, Cale, Amy and Dad came over too.  We played games.  I've spent two nights with Mom over break and the first night was spent with the fever and my dear mother taking care of me.  This night was so much more enjoyable.

Some children stand to inherit the family jewels, money, precious heirlooms, whatever...my child will inherit my amazing troll doll collection.  She loves to get them out when she is at Grandma's.

My Narcissuses are blooming all over the kitchen.  I'm looking forward to my smeller working again so I can fully enjoy them.

I snagged another beautiful bowl from Dad.  Those apples became a yummy sour cream apple pie.  Sigh, I'm really going to miss these footloose and fancy-free days of Christmas break.

And a little girl I know got fitted for her fiddle.  She will be all ready for her upcoming fiddle lessons.  Pretty exciting.

It's back to the grind tomorrow.  We had such a wonderful break, it's hard to see it go, but we are ready to get started on 2015.  I know it will be full of changes, excitement and love.  Life keeps us on our toes, that's for sure.
