A Big Surprise

We ordered this surprise for the kids a few months ago.  It finally came and was set up last week and awaiting them when we got home from school.   They both spotted it immediately and were so excited to try it out.  Jed cried and cried all night after he had to come in.  He was even asking to go play outside as I was rocking him to sleep that night, and it was the first thing he asked for the next morning.  Evangeline is so thrilled about the monkey bars.  Jed loves to swing and says, "na na wee" over and over while he swings.  He also likes to drive to the "court house" with the steering wheel.  They have spent hours on this playset already.

Happy children playing outside is the perfect view from my kitchen window.

Pumpkin Carving

When we say, "Jed, make your thinking face", this is what he does.  He is one hilarious baby.  He always has us laughing.

We had lots of fun carving our pumpkin this year.  Jed is obsessed with a song from Sesame Street that goes something like, "pumpkin face, pumpkin face.  So many shapes all over the place".  We have all been singing it none stop.  Jed loved to stir the pulp around in the bowl with the scoop and say, "cooking pumpkin".  Evangeline was a big help this year scooping out the pumpkin.

Jed's "smile for the camera" smile......

This kid and his faces....

Thinking face (with a tear because it was cold out).....

Harvest Time

Kyle was outside with the kids watching the farmer next door harvest the soy beans.  I heard the combine stop and the farmer say, "want a ride?".  I ran outside just in time to see Evangeline climbing into the combine.  She went around the field with him getting a lesson on how the combine works.  She was so excited when she got back.  She told us all about it.  It was definitely a neat experience for her.

Jed may have been a little disappointed that he didn't get to go.

My friend Lesley made a quick visit home.  She had us come over for a hayride with her family.  It was so fun to watch the kids play together.  It's always a joy to visit with Lesley.

Can't get enough of these two and scenes like this......

Tiny Perfection

Kyle and I were blessed with our new nephew, Liam Zachary, on Monday, October 9th.  He is absolutely beautiful.  I got to be there when Cale met him for the first time, which was a special moment in which I feel so fortunate to have been a part of.

Kyle, Evangeline and Jed met him for the first time on Tuesday.  Jed loved saying "Liam" repeatedly and Evangeline was in awe of him.  We already love this little fella so much.

Southfork Homestead Farms

On Monday we thought it would be fun to take the kids to Southfork Homestead Farms since we all had the day off for Columbus Day.  It was a perfect little outing for our family.

Mother hen....

Evangeline enjoyed the Rat Roller while the boys had fun with the ball toss.....

And a huge pile of dirt is always sure to be a hit.

We could have been in the corn maze forever if Jed was in charge.  He was obsessed over picking up every single kernel or stalk he could get his hands on.
He DID NOT want to get out of this truck.  I included this picture because you can just barely see the top of his hair sticking out from where he is sitting on the seat.  It got ugly when it came time to move on.

This is what Jed is doing now when I ask him to smile for the camera....

We took a hayride, ate lunch and had ice cream.  It was such a fun day.
