I found a fairy in my garden last night...

Here are a few things Evangeline has said lately that I don't want to forget:

"Thank you, Mommy.  You're my favorite husband."

"You're a genius, Mom.  Mom, what's a genius?"

"You're my cousin, Mom."

"Mama, you're my sweetie pie."

"I had two lumps of pascetti."

This was our discussion one night last week while Daddy was out of town.  We were watching a Fleetwood Mac concert:
Evangeline: "She has a pretty voice."
Mommy: "that's Stevie Nicks, she is one of my favorites."
Evangeline: "Mine too."

In the car last week I was getting kind of tired of the CD's we've been playing so I started flipping channels. A song from the 90's came on that I don't particularly care for, but we were waiting it out in hopes of a better one to follow.  It was that song that goes "I love you always forever. Near and far close and together......."  Evangeline said "this song is "zisgusting".  I looked back at her in my mirror and she had her little nose all wrinkled up on one side.  I said "what?" wondering if I heard her right, and she wrinkled up her nose again and said "this song is 'zisgusting'."  I said "you don't like it?" and she had a total look of repulsion on her face and shook her head no.  I defaulted back to our Mumford and Sons CD.  I guess gone are the days of her listening to whatever I have on.  She is developing a musical taste.  Thankfully, so far it's a good one.

She has started saying "what again" every time she wants someone to repeat themselves.  It's so funny.

She also answers "Of course I would, but....".

We were in the living room and she told me "Daddy told me that a real princess never gives up."  I told Kyle this and he looked totally confused and said "I never said that, but hey, that's a good one" and happily took credit.  Later I found out that Peter Rabbit says that his daddy told him that a good rabbit never gives up.    Evangeline just modified it to fit her a little better.

Speaking of Peter Rabbit....we have a total obsession in this house with Beatrix Potter.  I have always loved her works, and I am now so pleased to see that it has rubbed off on Evangeline.  We read her books so often, draw pictures of her characters, and watch the shows.  Evangeline even refers to the fox we see in our yard as Mr. Todd.  She told me once after we saw Mr. Todd down by our house that "he had a rabbit stew with all the trimmings."

My favorite Beatrix Potter moment Evangeline has had thus far is when she was running around that house all frazzled looking for her jacket (we couldn't leave to see her cousins until she had it on).  All at once she started pacing back and forth repeating, "stop 'sinking' (thinking) about radishes, stop 'sinking' about radishes."
