Blossoming Flower

We had a very exciting weekend.  Evangeline had her first dance recital.  It was held both Friday and Saturday night, which was a bit much, but she was such a little trooper.  I took her by myself on Friday.  She was just amazing.  She marched right out on stage and did her thing.  (Of course, she was the best one.)  On Saturday Daddy, Papa and Karen, Ammie, Grandpa Roy, Grandma and Uncle Zachary came to watch.

Here we are bouncing off the walls backstage before the show started.

Even after having a dance minor and dancing my whole life, I am not really one for putting makeup (even if it is stage makeup) on my 3 year old.  But she saw all of her other little pals getting all dolled up, so I whipped out some of my translucent powder and that was enough to make the night feel even more special.

Here are a few of the little friends she made in her class.

Show time!

I mean, would ya just look at those pointed toes!

That's a little Marshall girl to the left of her, Jayden.  Her big sister Bethany was in my class last year.

It was so funny watching this bunch.  Even though they were all doing the same thing they are all going at a different pace.  Putting their own spin on things and trying so hard.

We didn't stay for the grand finally on Friday, but we did on Saturday.  Boy, did she ham it up!  She was front and center and danced, clapped and bowed her heart out.  She is a natural.

I can't believe this is the same little child that would panic at the park if even a baby came near her.  She has really blossomed and come out of her shell in the past year.  She is so confident and bold.  She has such a personality and is such a joy.  She is the source of so many smiles each day.  Love her.

After the show Evangeline got not one, but two bouquets of flowers!! One from Grandma and the other from Uncle Zachary!

What a night!
