4th of July

Even though the weather was crummy we still managed to have a great 4th of July.  Evangeline had fun playing with her cousins who are spending the week with Ammie while Phil and Kristen are vacationing in Quebec.  We did our traditional watching of the hotdog eating contest on ESPN followed by a cook out (or cook-in due to the rain) at Peggy's, and then fire works.  Thankfully the rain eased up just enough for fireworks.
(Side note: I made Evangeline's dress out of some old fabric Peggy used for curtains in the blue house.)

My goodness, I love this face....

and this one too....

I bought sparklers, Pop-Its, and smoke bombs for the girls.  The smoke bombs were a big hit.  Good thing the 4th of July only comes once a year because running through a thick cloud of colored smoke just can't be good for a person.  We at least made sure they were holding their breath...and these pictures cracked me up.

Jed loved the fireworks.  He watched them with a smile on his face.
