Festive Weekend

I took the kids to a Christmas tree farm the other day to check out some greenery.  I didn't know what to expect, but boy was it cute!  Jed didn't know what to think.  Evangeline and I were cracking up at his reaction.  We saw Santa go by on a sleigh on wheels.  Jed stopped in his tracks to wave at him and I heard him say half out loud, half to himself, "be nice EB" like he was reminding himself to be nice to his sister while he was in Santa's presence.

The kids rode on the Rudolph Express, and again, we were cracking up over Jed.  His little head barely sticking up from his train car, bouncing along.  (He's the second reindeer back.)  He had the most serious look on his face the whole time and was clinching the harness.  It was the cutest.  I was grinning from ear to ear....these pictures even make me chuckle out loud.

The only way we could coax Jed back to the car without a scene was with a snowman lollipop.

Later that day Evangeline was in the Holly Day parade.  She rode on our church float.  "Peace, Love, and Jesus".

Twinning

As long as my kids want to match, by golly, we're doing it.  Not to mention...can you ever have too much plaid!?  This was after church last Sunday....

Little Star

Here's Evangeline's official 3rd grade picture...a beauty if I do say so myself.

Several weeks back she was star student and I've had her poster hanging on the refrigerator all this time meaning to include it here.  I'm finally getting around to it.  She worked so hard on it.

She still wants to be a tea party planner when she grows up.  Although, she was a tad stressed one day after school telling me that she wants to be two things and she doesn't know what to do about it.  She wants to be a tea party planner, but she also wants to be a singer.  I told her that's the beauty of being a tea party planner....it would be flexible enough that she could do both.  She seemed satisfied with that response. :)

Favorite book:  Laura Ingles Wilder.....be still my heart.

Favorite thing to do:  Read.....again, making the mom proud.

These were the pictures she wanted to include..... Love my bright and shining star.

Thanksgiving break

Thanksgiving break was so nice.  Lots of decorating, lots of playing, lots of relaxing.  I even got a day away with Kyle to shop in Indy and eat at a fancy restaurant.
Our house is pretty and festive right now.   Evangeline has so much fun checking out all of the ornaments and Jed is just fascinated by everything.

Every time I turn around this little guy has an ornament from off the tree.  He's just as bad as the cat!

Evangeline enjoys showing Jed the little nativity set, the Christmas trolls and the box of Christmas books we get out each year.

Oh, how I do love matching clothes...

Jed was fake laughing here and it was absolutely hilarious....

My mom has been in Florida for the past couple weeks.  We've missed her.  Here is a lovely collage Evangeline made for her.  Makes me smile.  From left to right we have Evangeline, Mom and Jed, Dad, Grandpa and Grandma Snowman.

Hanging of the Greens at church is always such a fun and special time.  Especially now that there are absolutely a ton of children at our church!

Jed was, of course, a handful by the end of the evening.  He kept running back and forth between us and Peggy.  I thought he looked so sweet sitting on his Ammie's lap singing Christmas carols.

Thanksgiving Day

It was a lovely morning filled with coffee, snuggles, Macey's Thanksgiving Day Parade and PJ's.  Evangeline and I decorated the tree the night before and Jed enjoyed checking out all the ornaments when he woke up.

We spent the day at Kristen's house.  She hosted a lovely feast.

Saturday was spent at my Dad's house where we stuffed ourselves again and had a lovely time visiting.
