We drove to Avon to Lily's 6th birthday party last weekend. Wow. Jed was not having the car ride. We were all happy to arrive at our destinations that day. It was a tad stressful. At one point we were driving through a construction zone with Jed screaming in the back seat. Evangeline had all she could take and let out a, "would someone change him for heaven sakes!"
The party itself was nice though. It was a little carnival party complete with photo booth, funnel cakes, snow cones, games and face painting.
Jed got to meet Aunt Sabrina and Ira for the first time.
Later that evening Evangeline was in the play "Down by the Creak Bank" at church. It was a fundraiser for the newly restored windows and the kids had been practicing since the beginning of the summer. It was a wonderful performance. I was so proud of not only Evangeline, but all the kids. This was Jed's debut at church and I was a proud mama showing him off to our church family.
There was supper and sundaes afterwards.
Speaking of proud mama's...look at this lap full of love! Evangeline is a little reading and spelling star this year. She enjoys reading to Jed and is having fun reading his board books by herself. She's getting 100% on all of her spelling tests and really enjoys her reading homework. She seems to be very studious.
Here is a page from Evangeline's school journal that her teacher emailed me. It says, "Dear Mrs. Crumrin, I like to help at home. I like to help my mom with the baby boy." I think it's funny that she referred to him as "the baby boy".
thanks for sharing these wonderful things. I'm so glad Eebers likes to read. I firmly believe that is one of the keys to a successful life !!@
