For our Christmas gift this year Peggy told us that she was going to take us to Starved Rock. She rented a condo for us to stay in along with Kristen, Phil and the girls. Kyle couldn't go. He had to work and boy, did we miss him! Evangeline wrote this note to him the first night we were there. She wanted me to stick it in the mail for him. I just snapped a picture and sent it knowing that we would beat the letter home if it was mailed :) 
We hiked around the beautiful park. I had Jed in my super awesome baby backpack which would have made it so much easier if it wasn't for my excruciating back pain that I've been experiencing. He loved his backpack and would throw a fit if I dared stop. Needless to say I was so tired that night.
I won't say too much more about our hiking trip other than this will probably be a trip that none of us will ever forget. Yes, we will be saying, "remember that time at Starved Rock" for years to come.
The highlight of this trip for my kids was the awesome water park. Jed had the time of his life and Evangeline didn't want to leave. I was in "keep Jed alive" mode the whole time we were here. He was absolutely fearless. Nothing at all like his cautious big sister.
