Oh my. These two little ones and their visit to see Santa. How precious it was. Let me just start by saying there is no way this would have happened if my mom didn't go with me. We had to wait for an hour for our turn, and let's just say that a one hour line is no place anyone wants to be, but especially a two year old boy. We finally made it though and it was worth the wait. Jed sat there so sweetly and told Santa he wanted a train track.
Jed was super excited about the candy cane Santa gave him....and I love the way Evangeline looks at Jed with such pride.
And these moments....this is where she told Santa that all she wants is a happy Christmas. I heard Santa reply, "that's the best thing, isn't it." Yes, the portraits of them all smiling at the camera are priceless, but these are my favorite...the ones that capture the sweet innocents and magic of the moment.
That evening Peggy came over for dinner. Jed was in a horrible mood and threw several big fits and went to "time-out" a few times. As I rocked him to sleep that night he said to me, "Halloween all done?" "Yes", I told him. He said, "Where'd Santa go?" I explained that Santa will come down the chimney and leave toys for him and treats in his stocking if he is a good boy. That Santa only leaves toys for good boys. He got quiet for a split second and then simply replied, "oopsie."
