Holiday Cheer

Evangeline kicked off Christmas break with the Christmas play at church, Bethlehem Gulch.  It was a cowboy theme.  She did a great job with her speaking part.  She had a lot to remember and she nailed it.

A lot of practice went into preparing for the play.  The kids worked hard, so to reward them for their hard work there was a party the next day.  They went caroling, played games and had hot chocolate and cookies.

Evangeline also had her first ever piano recital.  Her recital pieces were Up on the House Top and P-I-N-K.  Again, she did such a wonderful job.  She was very nervous, but you would never know it.  She seemed very confident when it was her turn to perform.

Oh, and precious Christmas break.....Any extra time I get to spend at home with my kids is very special since we are constantly on the go during the school year.  I feel like I barely get to even see Jed much during the week considering he goes to bed at 7:00, so break is extremely precious to me.  We've been busy playing, snuggling, reading, creating.  I am ever so pleased that both of my children enjoy books so much.

Here the kids are painting Christmas ornaments for the tree.  Jed is obsessed with painting.

I made marshmallows with Evangeline.  This project has been on our holiday to-do list for weeks.  We made them snowflake shaped.  She packaged them in little bags and delivered them to some of our neighbors.
