Saint Charles

This year our girl's trip (plus Jed) was to St. Charles, Missouri.  Saint Charles is an absolutely adorable town on the Missouri river outside of St. Louis.  The buildings are so old, and there are several streets of them that have maintained their historical façade, and much of the interiors as well.  There is a lot of history in this town as well as shopping and eating options.

Ammie let all the kids pick out a treat in this adorable little candy shop.

After some time spent vacillating over all of their options, Evangeline picked out gummy frogs and Jed picked out candy Legos.

A quick visit with Daniel Boone.....

The kids enjoyed playing in a little garden area right off the water front street.

We took a bus tour around the city and learned a lot of the history of the town.

I let the kids pick out a souvenir.  Jed saw this blue fish shaped kitchen scrubby in the of the first shops we went in (a kitchen shop) and it had to be his.  I told him that we should wait and check out some of the other shops before we decide, but of course you can't reason with a toddler.....
This town was seriously adorable with a very rich history.  I would love to go back someday and stay at one of the little bed and breakfasts.
