Easter/Spring Break: Part 2

Easter day was lovely in every way.  Evangeline was so thrilled to see the Easter bunny had visited us.  I wish I had video tapped it because it because she was SO excited and amused by exploring what he left in the yard.  She thought his hiding places for the eggs were hilarious.  She thought it very fun to see that her decorated eggs were hidden as well as the plastic ones.

This picture is blurry, but it pretty much sums it up.

Probably the only skeleton searching for Easter eggs.

The bunny left her some bubble gum eggs, a little chocolate bunny, a new nightgown (as seen below), a new headband (also seen in photo below), bunny fruit snacks, and some Kleenex packets (one of her favs).  But the big excitement came from the light up hula hoop.  I kept hearing her tell everyone who asked her what the she got from the Easter bunny: "I got my very first hula hoop ever!  I never had one before!  And it lights up!".  Nice work, Easter
Bunny.

After church we had a celebration at Peggy's house.  There was yet another egg hunt.  The little lady is a total pro by now.  It never gets old to watch the kids run around the yard searching for the eggs though.  Sheer looks of childhood joy all over their faces.

I just had to add this picture because I thought her hair was so pretty.  I've been trying fancy little hairdos lately.  She has been very patient about sitting still while I practice.

Granny is back in Marshall for the summer.  She is all moved in to her apartment.  We are happy to have her here.  I'm excited to have a grandma again, right here in town.  Sure loved my grandmas.  I'm glad Kyle has two fantastic ones to share with me.

Granny got the girls these super-cool shades and an Easter bonnet.  That stubborn Miss Lily wasn't having it with the bunny glasses.

These girls have always been famed snail scouts.  Ammie found an extremely small shell in Florida when she was getting Granny and brought it all the way back to show them.

Savannah has some serious hula-hooping skills.  She was giving Evangeline all kinds of pointers.

Patches never left this chair on the porch all day long.  Every creature is soaking up the much awaited sun and warmth.

Speaking of creatures...the crawdads are taking over the world!  I have never seen so many crawdad mounds.  They are absolutely everywhere.  For some reason I was calling them "crawdaddys for about a week or so.  Then Evangeline started calling them that.  After I remembered (a.k.a. Kyle making fun of me) it took me several days to break Evangeline of it.

Evangeline's been full of questions about them.  So I told her that when I was little Zachary and I would take the clay from the crawdad holes and make bowls with them. Then we would leave them in the sun to dry.  Her reply..."then what".  Ummm, that's it.  She wasn't impressed, but that's my crawdad story.

Next stop on the Tour De Food, Dad's house.  Oh yes, the outdoor wok.  Kimchee and veggies.  So yummy.

Evangeline has been totally itching to go up on Grandpa's balcony.  We did it.  She thought it was the coolest thing.

Highlight of my day today:  Evangeline falling asleep in my arms.  Still my baby.

Easter leaves me feeling totally blessed.
