Easter/Spring Break: Part 1

That magnificent inchworm-green is creeping into our woods.  What a welcome sight.  Spring Break is glorious.  We've been outside lots and lots.  Our windows have been opened.  There's been cook-outs, s'mores, yard work, swinging and playing going on around here.  Kyle forged operation "take back the yard" yesterday and went to town with the chainsaw.  It looks good.

The Hutsons sent us these lovely flowers for Easter....

On our first day of Spring Break E.B and I went swimming at the Lincoln Suites here in town.  Kyle took her swimming here back in February on one of his holidays off.  I'm glad he discovered this special, local activity. What fun we had.  I was the seahorse and Evangeline was the mermaid princess.  I felt like a horse.  I found out just how out of shape I was.  For the whole rest of the day I was absolutely exhausted.  We both were.   Evangeline was a big girl and put her feet down on the bottom of the shallow end so that all that was above the surface was her little face bobbing up and down.  She's getting so tall, and brave.

Next on the list of fun activities was egg dying.

Kyle also had the great idea to roast marshmallows.  I took this picture from the kitchen window.... She sure does adore her Daddy-O.

Well, here's a bunch of pictures I just couldn't weed down any further.  She just looks to sweet to her mama, so I'm keeping them all.

She definitely got the knack of staring off into space form her mother.  We both do this a lot.  Kyle thinks it's weird.

She sure was ready for that Easter Egg hunt at Papa's house.  She had that basket ready to go.

I had my official candle extinguishing partner at my side to help me with my birthday cake.
I've been meaning to record one of my favorite Evangeline words for weeks now..."scrumbly"....it means kind of a cross between crumbled and mixed up.  It can be used from anything from bunched up socks, to scrambled TV's, to paper that isn't smooth.  It's a dandy.
