How lovely dinner was last weekend at Dad's house. Zachary, the grill master, made some delicious stakes and Dad's sides were phenomenal. Hands down, the best Brussels sprouts I've ever had.
I had fun experimenting with Dad's tripod. I've been trying to decided if I want one and I think I may love it. I had possibly way too much of a good time playing with it that night. It allows me to really open the shutter and get some pictures in low light. I think it will be very handy since I really don't like to use a flash. Obviously I have some practicing to do, but it's going to be great fun.
Evangeline had a grand old time finding treasures around the yard and being the center of attention, like usual.
This picture cracks me up because it's a classic Dad face. He always has looks like he is the dealing with the dumbest people on the face of the planet. Gotta love this old hermit.
Daddy made me the most lovely flower pots. Here are two of them. Things of beauty I do say.
The hubby...ahhhh, swoon....
Zachary being a classic idiot and cracking us all up with his shenanigans.
My Aunt Rita and Uncle Steve were in town to visiting from Pennsylvania. I was such fun getting to spend some time with them. Aunt Rita brought me some great books from her collection and I have had the most enjoyable time looking through them....especially the Butterick Celebrations book. There is just a wealth of great crafty ideas in that book spanning from 1832-1932. It's a dandy.
Mom was there too, but didn't find her way into any photographs that night.
Back in Marshall we've just been chugging along. The weather got so nice at the end of this past week. Summer is waning. The leaves are drying up and the days already seem so much shorter. I sat outside on the back porch today and I felt like a turtle laying on a warm, sunny rock. It was a bit cool, but the sun felt so wonderful. I love this time of year. I harvested two more tomatoes off of my vine today. Not sure it was worth my trouble in our shady yard, but it's always so rewarding to pick your own tomatoes....even if your plant only produces three edible tomatoes throughout the whole season.
Here we are at Ammie's house. I do love her birdhouses.
