Our zoo trip was not the only place where I drew inspiration for the title of this post, "wild things".... Here is the crew that gathered for Kyle's 20th high school reunion at the good ol' Marshall VFW last weekend. It was quite the time. I like Kyle's friends. I like to hear the stories Kyle tells about the people and shenanigans from his past.
Here's another little wild thing running around in the front with her Easter kite that we have sadly never flown, on the most non-breezy day we've had in a while. Still, the little girl was itching to fly this kite. I told her that to properly fly a kite we needed some wind and a field, I don't think she was convinced. I showed her how to run around in a circle (that's all we have room for in our yard) and get the kite to trail behind in the air.
When she saw that it really wasn't going to go all the way up in the air, and not only that, but it would fall as soon as she stopped running she said to me, "wow, that was almost fun." She kept going though. This was the event of the evening and only did she stop when she hit the pavement and skinned her knee.
We went to the Indianapolis zoo with Mom last Monday. It was a full day. In addition to checking out the animals we went to see an Ice Age short in 4D. This was a little too intense for Evangeline. She did not appreciate being sneezed on by a dinosaur.
She did love the carousal and her very first roller coaster ride. She road that thing screaming with her little hands up in the air just like a big kid. That was her favorite thing we did there.
Evangeline still isn't to the age yet where a napping zebra impresses her. She still acted like wild animals are something she sees every day. She did, however, love the dolphin show and all of the aquatic animals.
She raced a chaeta, which is one of her favorite things to do at the Terre Haute Children's Museum.
We closed out the day with a picnic at Mom's house and some runs through the sprinkler.
