The Saturday before Evangeline's birthday we had a little party with some of her friends. She had been looking forward to this for months now. I told her she could pick 7 of her friends to come. I could not have been more pleased with the group of kids she chose....Avery Gard, Hannah Simpson, Kiaden Sanders, Alex Wernz, Ava Sherrell, Harper Richardson, and Mayah Boyd. The morning of her party I purchased some balloons to tie to the deck. She was so excited about the balloons. We also picked out some really cute pool floats. Yes, it was a fun party. The only set back was the fact that the temperatures dropped down to a high of around 69 the day before the party with a cool night and the pool water was FREEZING! The kids still had a blast getting in and out of the pool, playing croquet, playing in the playhouse, eating cupcakes and ice cream and watching Evangeline open presents.
Cute shivering kiddos....
We have definitely gotten our money's worth out of this croquet set. The kids love it.
Evangeline got some of the sweetest gifts from her friends. Some of her favorites included a vintage teacup and herbal tea sampler from Alex, a picture frame made by Kaiden with a picture of Evangeline and Kaiden inside, and a crayon factory that makes neat shaped crayons out of old crayons.
Jed went to Ammie's house during the party, but he sure enjoyed playing with all of the balloons when he got back.
Thank goodness she was still able to enjoy her party, but we discovered that night that poor little Evangeline spiked a fever. She always seems to get sick at her birthday. We call it her "birthday illness". I always wonder if it's because she gets so worked up and excited. Regardless of the fever, it was a fun and special day for all of us.
