Fall Fun

We visited Dad for the first time since he's lived at the farm.  He's really looking settled in and happy there.  We had a great time walking around outside, eating a delicious lunch and chatting with him and Uncle Kenny who was also there for a visit.

Mom and I got real brave and took all three kids to Pioneer Days one day when Mom was watching Cale.  Whew!  What a handful!  We went to eat at Panera afterwards and that's where things got really interesting.  After having both of the boys at the same time it made me glad that my own kids are 6 years apart.

My friend, Danielle Cline, invited us out to pick persimmons from her parent's heavily laden persimmon trees.  Her daughter, Liberty, and my kids had a fun time collecting the persimmons.  Jed stood in one place and squashed the persimmons.  Liberty kept bringing him ripe ones to squish.  He was such a mess when we left I had to strip him down before putting him in the car.

I couldn't believe how many persimmons there were.  We left with 2 gallon buckets full.  I squashed them down into 4 cups of pulp that night.  I went to bed that night feeling very successful and gratified.
