Summer Art Camp

Well, I'm very behind on this post, but here are some of the pieces Evangeline made at the camp she attended at the Swope this past summer.   It was a class inspired by the works of Eric Carle.  They did a lot of murals and collages.  She thoroughly enjoyed herself.  One of the first pieces she talked about was the ladybug she made from paper machete.  She was given the choice to either make a ladybug or butterfly.  She was in utter turmoil over this decision.  Ultimately she chose the ladybug...I think she made the right choice.

The kids painted several collages.  They used all sorts of techniques to get different textures on their paintings.  Then they used the paintings to create various crafts.  I loved to see all of the things she brought home each day and hear her tell me all about them.

I took these pictures of her artwork the last week at our old house.  As I was taking them I snapped these last two pictures.  Images I would miss from our old home...Evangeline's never-ending rock creations, and that darn ornamental grass.....
