Autumn in the Air

The Fall Festival came and went.  We sure got lucky with the weather.  They were calling for a soaker of a weekend, but it ended up being absolutely beautiful.  Jed enjoyed his first parade.  I choked back the tears watching him when the Marshall High School band came marching by.  He was enthralled.  Watching a person experience things for the very first time with such awe and amazement is so beautiful, it's almost too much.

Evangeline had a blast.  The cousins were there, which of course meant fun.

Kyle was in the parade this year as president of the Rotary Club.  He also had a few of his signs on the Republican float, a.k.a. big haystack pulled by a trailer.  Later, he worked for a time at the Republican booth.  I sat with him.  Boy, we sure had some interesting conversation with the townsfolk.  The Trump sign drew in some characters.  It was sure interesting to hear what people had to say on the subject.

Peggy's brother, Steve came to town.  We all celebrated Peggy, Roy and Lily's birthday.  What a lovely weekend it was.

Evangeline talked her daddy in to buying her a stuffed candy corn.  She has had such fun with it.  Cornelia is the name she gave it.  She's been taking it everywhere, reading it stories, talking to it, playing with it.  Most little girls play like this with baby dolls....my daughter mothers things like candy corn.
