Uprooted

We have officially moved in to our new house.  Let me just say I think my next move better be to the old folk's home.

The kids have been so excited about the swimming pool.  There have already been many hours spent splashing around in the back yard.  I have to pinch myself to make sure it's not all a dream.  It seems like we've been waiting for this for so long and we are all enjoying being in our home.  We still have quite a bit of junk to clear out of the old house and only a week or so to do it.  We also have so much stuff to put away here, but at least we are feeling a little settled and comfortable.  Furniture will definitely help though.

Our first night here was so exciting for the kids.  Evangeline couldn't wait to sleep in her new room, which was somewhat of a surprise to me.  After the usual bedtime shenanigans (pictured below) they went right to sleep in their new rooms.

Even in a huge room with practically nothing in it this little dude will find danger.  He's always pretty proud of himself when he gets somewhere that he knows he isn't supposed to be.  He scampers double-time to make sure he gets there too.

He's got a lot to check out....

Last week was a whirlwind of painting, packing, unpacking, purging, and chasing a baby.  Kyle and Wayne both took the week off to work on the upstairs.  To say they would need a vacation from their vacation is an understatement.  They painted all four bedrooms, changed 3 ceiling fans, removing a built-in ironing board, repaired holes, stripped wall paper, among many other things.  We moved in what little furniture we had and took the other little bit of furniture to the auction barn.  Our new furniture should arrive this week and next and then things will really start feeling like a home.  Peggy was such a help watching the kids and Grandma also helped when she got home from her trip.  I don't know what we would have done without our parents!

We all felt like this by the end of the week....
