Aloha Birthday!

Evangeline's 5th birthday party was a blast.  We weren't sure it was going to happen at all though since she woke up at the crack of dawn with a little stomach bug.  Poor girl hasn't been sick in months and then she randomly gets it right on the morning of her birthday party...thankfully she got over it, we gave everyone a fair warning and then proceeded with the party.
Evangeline wanted a Hawaiian party this year.

She was SO excited about her grass skirt.  I was instructed that this was the perfect place for her picture and she struck a hula pose.  After I took this picture she was hula posing all over the place.

I got coconuts for the kids to drink from.  We let them try the coconut milk and after they decided it wasn't what they expected we filled them with pineapple juice.  They were a hit (even for the grown ups).

Ahhhh, a girl could really get used to a tropical shirt and a coconut.
Kyle made delicious Aloha burgers with grilled pineapple.

Evangeline's dream finally came true when she received her much anticipated Easy Bake Oven from Uncle Zach and Aunt Candice.  She's been dreaming about this thing since the day after Christmas when she saw a commercial for it on TV.  She was absolutely ecstatic when she received it.

It's so special that Evangeline gets to share her party with her Great Grandma Jody each year.  She was born the day before Grandma Jody's birthday.
EB always gets the cutest little expression on her face when people are singing her the birthday song.

The kids had a ball with the piñata even though they wacked it onto the ground in a matter of minutes then had to beat it open.

Evangeline had a wonderful day and these two dorky parents sure had a great time celebrating their little girl with family and friends.
