Clayshire Castle

We went to the Clayshire Castle Renaissance fair again this year. I spent the night before at my dad's house.  I went with him to his high school reunion.  The next morning I met Kyle and the kids at the castle.  Even though it was hot out, by golly, Evangeline wore her cape.

At one point she ran down a hill to catch up with Kyle and Jed and her cape fluttered behind her.  She was really pleased with how that turned out.

Jed was hot and he was in a mood.....

He perked up when he got to pick out a toy.  He chose a samurai sword.

He thought he was pretty bug stuff with that sword.  He was keeping me safe for the rest of the day.  He liked walking through a little hedge maze and leading the way with his sword out and ready to advance on any enemy we might come in contact with.

Evangeline picked out a dragon egg that has it's own little stand....

I ended up taking Jed home early and Kyle stayed with Evangeline to watch a few demonstrations.  It was a very fun day.

Soccer Season

Oh my word....My little #5.....Jed playing soccer was priceless.  He LOVED his soccer shoes and every game was like watching his soccer coach, Katie Williams, try to heard cats.  He was happy to be on the same team with his buddy, Britton and Britton's mom was the coach.
Jed had been longing to get a Gatorade to take to his first official soccer game.  He had seen Evangeline get a Gatorade on occasion when she would have a basketball or softball game, so he thought he needed one too.  Kyle got him one for his first game and all he did was run to the bench to drink it.

In the pictures below he is actually walking through the game as it is being played to have parental assistance with opening his Gatorade.

From this game on we were in charge of holding the drinks for him.

He always had a cheering section from his sister, to his grandma's to his papa who would make the drive all the way from Indy to watch him.

During drink breaks when there was no one on the field Jed made it a habit to kick the ball down the field by himself and make a goal.  People would always cheer for him.

One time he told me that he told someone on the opposing team, "I'm gonna squeeze you like a lemon (wemon) into a pail of water".  I though this was hilarious, but we had to have a little discussion about trash talking people.

He got a medal at the end of the season.  I think his favorite thing was getting snacks at the end of every game though....

Here's his official soccer picture.....Melt. My. Heart.

Indy Football

The dreams that Kyle has of sharing his love of football with one of his children is finally starting to take shape.  He purchased preseason tickets for a Bears/Colts game for himself, Wayne and Jed.  Us girls decided to go to Indy too.  We spent the night with Wayne and Karen.  In the late morning the boys left for the game and the girls went shopping.  Kyle reported that Jed had a fun time, but asked if the game was over almost immediately after finding their seats.

That evening, while the boys were still away, we went to dinner with Karen and Kristen's family at Trader's Point Creamery.  So delicious.  The milkshakes are out of this world, probably due to the fact that they use their own milk.  We sipped our milkshakes and walked all around their gardens.
