A Man of Many Hats

Jed will put anything on his head and call it a hat.  The other day he was really cracking me up as I was getting ready for work.  He had one of Evangeline's dress up skirts on his head and then it was the basketball goal...both "hats" of course.

A little more about sweet little Jed....  He says thank you as "da du".  He has excellent manners.

He loves to scream "dee da" (get down) at Pickles when Pickles is up on the counter.

He does not like to share my lap.  One day Evangeline was snuggling with me on the couch.  Jed came grumping over to us.  I picked him up so both of them were laying on my lap and he pushed Evangeline and said, "dee da".  Even thought Evangeline was a tad put out, we both had to admit it was funny.

He gets his bath in the sink and loves to get all the towels out of the dish towel cabinet and say "towel" and "baff" when he thinks it's time for a bath even though of course I do not use a dish towel to dry him off.

He still calls Evangeline Iss.  He calls Ammie, Ommie.  He sometimes calls Kyle, Kyle, which is particularly hilarious.

Jed calls stars "up aboves".  He refers to any star he sees this way and also refers to the song, Twinkle Twinkle as "up above".  It's so darn cute.

He can recognize stars, heats and ovals.  He likes to point out the color purple and say the word.

He doesn't say no, instead it's "no way".  Surely I've mentioned this.  If I had a nickel for every time I heard the words "no way" in a day, I would be a wealthy woman.  "Do you want a banana?"   "NO WAY."  "It's night-night time."  "NO WAY!  NO WAY!"

When he wants to be picked up he puts up his little arms and says, "up high".

He's learned how to say "go away" clear as a bell.  He learned it from the book Go Away Big Green Monster, which is one of his favorites.  He's learning that it's a handy little phrase.  The other day we were getting ready to leave Kristen and Phil's house.  He knew that someone was about to get him and put him in the car.  Phil came walking up to him and he said, "go away".  The little stinker.

He says "tay" and "oh tay" for OK.

He still loves to nurse.  I only nurse him in the morning and night now.  I quit the afternoon nursing around late April.  It is still such a part of his life and I'm not going to rush him to quit.  He will follow me around the house saying, "nuws, nuws" in the highest pitched voice.  He also pulls my shirt back down and says, "da du" when he is finished.  It's such a special bond between us and knowing he is my last one makes it even harder to let go.

He is just one sweet little stinker.  We are all crazy about out little Jeddy Bear.
