Come Listen to a Story 'Bout a Baby Named Jed

This is the boss baby and he calls all the shots around here..... We've been trying all kinds of tricks to get this little fella to sleep without being held.  He's a hard nut to crack.  Just when we think we're on to something, he insists on making it a long night for everyone.

Jed's growing like a little weed.  He was up to 8 pounds 4 ounces at his two week appointment last Friday.

All that hair!  My fuzz head looks so cute after I wash him.  There is no rhyme or reason to that quaff.  We try to brush it down with water, but it insists on popping back up.  When he makes his grumpy face and his hair is all wild, I can't help but think of Heat Mister.

This next picture was taken after his first bath where I somewhat submerged him.  He screamed like a banshee and did everything he could do to make it super stressful...I finally pulled him out.  After I dried him off I realized that I didn't get all the shampoo off the top of his head.  I didn't dare rinse it until he was good and calm.  Oh, what the screams of a child can do to a person's nerves.  Oh yes, he definitely calls the shots.

It's a love/hate relationship with tummy time.  He can't decide whether he wants to sit there and squirm around and fuss, or cuddle up and take a nap.

Peggy took care of his alter flower at church.

My little nuggets....

Evangeline had front row tickets to see Frozen on Ice in Indy with Papa, Karen and the girls last Saturday.  I was glad she got to get out and do something fun.  Kyle and I spent a good part of the afternoon at the doctor's office with Jed who has already managed to get a bacterial infection in his eye.  Welcome to the world little dude.

Kyle was getting Evangeline ready for school the other morning while I was nursing Jed.  I overheard him tell her that her socks didn't go with her outfit and that she should wear white socks.  She replied, "Mommy lets me pick out whatever socks I want.  Did you know that sometimes I wear colored socks?  Mommy doesn't judge me."  We both got the biggest laugh out of that.  Little does she know that I am always given grief about how my socks never match my outfits :)
